First Nine Weeks Skills
By the end of the first nine weeks your child should be able to do the following:
- Recite days of the week
- Orally spell and write their first name
- Recognize the colors and color words (red, blue, yellow, green, purple, pink, gray)
- Read sight words (a, the, see, I, to, at, am, go, is, can, and, you)
- Recognize uppercase and lowercase letters M, S, T, B, A, N, D, C, P
- Hear and produce the letter sounds m/ s/ t/ b/ a/ n/ d/ c/ p
- Count and recognize 0 to 10
- Identify circle, triangle, square, and rectangle
- Group objects
- Complete a pattern
- Name the five senses
- Describe location of an object (over, under, above, on, below, left, right, top, bottom, middle, inside, and outside)
- Identify occupations in the community (doctor, nurse, teacher, farmer, janitor, fire fighter, policeman, mail carrier, and cashier)
- Identify the flag (50 stars, 13 stripes
Fine moor skills: coloring inside the lines and cutting along a line
**Social Development:**takes turns, follows rules, finishes assignments, keeps hands, feet to self
Daily Practice
Students can practice some skills at home daily such as:
Writing their name
Writing their numbers 1-10
Writing their ABC's
